All licensees wanting to renew must submit twenty-eight (28) hours of continuing education. Seven (7) hours of the total must be the seven (7) hour USPAP update course. The fifteen (15) hour USPAP course is not approved for continuing education and cannot be used to substitute the seven (7) hour course. The renewal fees are one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125) for registered trainees. The renewal fees for licensed or certified appraisers are four hundred thirty dollars ($430). The renewal form, payment, and continuing education must be received by the Commission office 30 days prior to expiration or a late fee applies. Licensed and Certified appraisers should know that if their credential is not renewed before the first of the month prior to expiration, then they will fall off the Appraisal Subcommittee of Congress’ National Registry. This may cause FHA and other lending agencies to remove the appraiser from the panel for a month or longer. The administrative staff of the Real Estate Appraiser Commission cannot add you to the National Registry outside the monthly submission, nor can staff reinstate an appraiser to the FHA panel. You may check your status on the National Registry via the Appraisal Subcommittee. You may also renew your license by clicking here.
