How do I obtain an auctioneer firm license?

Requirements for auction firm license, for a firm owned by a licensed Tennessee Auctioneer:

  1. Complete application
  2. Escrow account form, completed by bank
  3. Submit payment of license fees to the Tennessee Auctioneer Commission. For fee schedule, please refer to application.
  4. Auctioneer acting as principal, if not the owner, must hold a current Tennessee Auctioneer license and sign the application.

Requirements for auction firm license, for a firm (not owned) by licensed Tennessee Auctioneer:

  1. Retain a copy of the application for your records.
  2. Complete and submit to testing company (PSI):
  3. Application for firm license
  4. Escrow account form, completed by bank
  5. Proof that owner or company sponsor has 30-hour qualifying education certificate
  6. Firm owner's high school diploma or GED certificate
  7. Submit payment of license fees to the Tennessee Auctioneer Commission upon owner or sponsor passing the Non-Auctioneer Firm Exam. For fee schedule, please refer to application.

*Please note that a licensed auctioneer must be present at each location to conduct auctions.
