Who is required to be licensed?

Any person, partnership, association, corporation who engages in or holds themselves out as engaging in the business of an alarm systems contractor shall be certified. This includes Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV and Alarm Monitoring.

Each alarm contracting company shall designated at least one (1) qualifying agent who is or shall be licensed for each classification of service to be performed by the certified business entity. All persons employed by an alarm systems contractor shall apply for registration within thirty (30) days of employment.

Alarm Contractor Certification Basic Requirements: Non-refundable application fee, licensed qualifying agent or applicant for qualifying agent license in each alarm classification company applied for, or is certified in, to qualify the company, proof of insurance as required by Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-32-315, certification fee in each classification approved.

Qualifying  Agent Basic Requirements: Non-refundable application fee, fingerprints for background check (fingerprint fees), statements of any criminal records, photos for identification card, proof of experience, proof of education or training, examination, license fee for each classification approved.
